This glossary contains all the terms, definitions, and image references you'll need to get the most out of Taptok's Digital Cards.

Digital Card Builder UI
  • Digital Card Builder: The name given to the Digital Card editor; it encompasses everything you see on-screen when editing a Digital Card.

  • Preview Mode: This mode allows you to preview your progress and test each button and function on your Digital Card.
  • Save: Allows you to save, name, and share your Digital Card.
  • Return Buttons: Used to undo or redo actions performed within the Digital Card Builder.
  • Page Settings: General options for changing the overall look of the page. These are more useful when displaying a Digital Card on larger devices such as computers or tablets.
  • Add Components: The most important button within the Digital Card Builder as it contains all the possible features to add to any Digital Card.

Component Types
  • General: Components that allow you to add customizable basic elements to a Digital Card, such as text, icons, images, buttons, and more.

  • Contact Information: Components that can hold additional information about yourself.

  • Social Networks: Pre-made components containing buttons with actions to launch the most popular social media websites.

  • e-Commerce: A section where you can redirect to your e-Commerce sites.

  • Media: Components used to insert external media such as third-party links to video previews, image sliders, etc.

  • Lead Generation: Components used to insert popular call-to-actions and lead generation forms.

  • Custom Modules: The most complex and creative type of component. We recommend avoiding this type of component if you are not a programmer or do not have basic programming knowledge, as it can result in unexpected outcomes.

  • Business Tools: Components that provide information about your company's various types of analytics, such as reviews, and can also help generate custom QR codes.

Important Terms, Icons and Functions
  • Editing Icons: When you click a component within a Digital Card, it will become highlighted with gray dots around its corners. When highlighted (selected), it will display editing icons that allow you to modify the component in various ways.

  • Arrows Icon: Allows you to click and drag a component. Double-clicking it will take you to the editing mode for that specific component.
  • Trash Icon: Deletes the currently selected component.
  • Two Squares Icon: Allows you to copy or duplicate the currently selected component.
  • Pencil Icon: Enters the selected component's editing mode.
  • Properties: When you are in the editing mode of any component, you will see the properties that you can change. The main properties that we can see across almost all components are General, Style, and Action (these may vary depending on the selected component and its available properties).

  • General: Allows the selection of general properties of a specific component. It enables changes at a macro level, and the options seen in this type of property may vary depending on the type of component.

  • Style: Enables modification of a module at the micro level by providing options such as coloring, effects, object alignment, and position.

  • Action: These properties are more commonly used in buttons and icons as they allow you to specify what function a button or icon should perform when pressed or clicked.
